In Washington, the Wild Things were nearly swept with a pair of home losses to the Florence (Kentucky) Freedom on Friday and Saturday. However, Sunday saw an extra inning victory to salvage the series. The Freedom were in control from start to finish on Friday, followed by a much closer 6-4 decision the following night. According to the Frontier League’s Web site, Florence finished the weekend at 11-4 and retain the West Division lead. On the flip side, the Wild Things rank third in the Frontier League East with a 9-6 season record.

According to Google Maps, Florence, Kentucky, is located approximately 90 minutes northeast of Louisville but roughly 20 minutes south of Cincinnati.
